Feast of San Vito

The town dedicates solemn celebrations to its patron Saint, from 13 to 15 June.

It is a religious moment in which the whole population takes part with great devotion, and in particular the fishing community of San Vito Lo Capo: it is joined by singing, music and sports events, parades, exhibitions and an evocative historical re-enactment of the “landing” of the Saint, accompanied by his tutor Modestus and his nurse Crescentia, who, arriving at sunset on the beach, to the sound of the sirens of the fishing fleet’s boats and by the light of multicoloured rockets, move towards the town, accompanied by the brass band. The picturesque procession through the streets of the village and the fireworks close the celebrations.
