Zingaro Nature Reserve

The Zingaro Nature Reserve stretches between Castellammare del Golfo and San Vito Lo Capo. Established in the early 1980s, it is the first nature reserve in Sicily, in an area rich in evergreen Mediterranean scrub with coves characterised by an intense blue and crystal-clear sea.

You can walk a coastal path, about 7 km long, linking the San Vito Lo Capo entrance to the Scopello one. Inside the Reserve are the Natural History Museum, the Museum of Maritime Activities, the Museum of Peasant Civilisation, where the complete cycle of wheat is reproduced, the Environmental Education Centre, two equipped areas and rural buildings.
